Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi..One week ago, I had right side inguinal hernia repair (second repair on same site..first was about 5 yrs ago).I stopped the pain killers yesterday and now take pain relievers like ibuprofen and tramadol (which I'd taken for other pains before my surgery). I noticed that since the surgery I have been seemingly impotent where I had never had a problem before. Is that normal?
Hi. The impotency you are feeling may be temporary due to the pain, recovering from the Surgery, medicines like tramadol. Impotency is not found in patients who have undergone the hernia Surgery. This may improve with time. You should think of impotency if you have a problem even after 2 to 3 weeks, the time taken for recovery. I do not think you should worry at the moment.
