Suggest Remedy For Short Term Memory Problems While On Treatment For Glioblastoma In Thalamus Area
Hi My husband is diagnosed with high grade glioblastoma in thalamus area. He has been treated with radiation and chemo pill for 6 weeks and is currently in drug free period. He has a very high IQ and even now is very quick in math and has good long term memory. His analyzing skills are good but tire him out mentally. He had some short term memory issues and balance before the treatment which disappeared and have come back again now. The past two days he has improved in balance with steroids. His short term memory is still affected. Does the brain have the capacity to grow new cells as the tumor and adjacent healthy cells are destroyed due to radiation.
This is not uncommon to see after radiation and chemotherapy treatments targeted in that area and it can be tough to really treat. I have had some success and seen success at least in the short term with medications like Aricept which is used for Alzheimer's disease in truth and there is a natural product called HUEPRAZINE A which is similar in function that you can look for online.
These work by increasing the amount of the neurotransmitter needed to produce short term memories and this might prove useful in this case. I think it is at least something to consider and even discuss with his family doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
