Suggest Remedy For Sleep Apnea With Nose Blockage And Difficult Breathing
Friend in his 50 s has sleep apnea and stops breathing often. He snores very loudly. What troubles him though is as soon as he lies down his nose is blocked and he can t breath. Can anything be done for this? He has asked a Dr a couple of years ago but he didn t seem to listen to him.
Nasal blockage on lying down indicates nasal polyposis or hypertrophied turbinates. Snoring has many reasons and needs proper evaluation by clinical examination, Nasal and oropharyngeal Endoscopy, sleeping endoscopy to see for the cause, MRI studies. All these will lead to find the causes so that further management which is usually a surgical corrections that are causing blockage and sleep apnea. He should consult an ENT Surgeon well trained in sleep apnea evaluation and surgery. This is very important to avoid a lot of direct and indirect complications.
