Hello Welcome to HCM. I understand the concern which you have for your partner. Rape is a huge mental trauma for a girl. To get back to normal after such incident is really difficult. There are some Do's and Dont's which your friend should follow: DO's: Practice relaxation exercises like deep breathing, yoga etc. Engage in positive self-talk. Engage in activities like cooking, reading, writing, gardening. Spend time with family and friends. Go for movies, listen to music.
DONT's: Become a workaholic. Be depressed and remain to yourself. Take alcohol or any other addiction. Keep high expectations from others.
Also, she can take low doses of antidepressant drugs like escitalopram and anti-anxiety medicines like ativan.
Visit a psychotherapist for cognitive therapies.
Hope this helps her. Thanks.
