Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I recently completed my blood test and my doctor said that my red blood cells are smaller than normal and that I should be completing another lab to rule out thalessemia. Should I be concerned? Also, my results were within normal range and the doctor did not see any sign of anemia.
what you have is known as non symptomatic microcytic anaemia. please get a Hb and a TLC and please report the results. if the Hb is normal and you only have microcytic anaemia without any symptoms of anaemia then I ll suggest you to please start tab FeFol 1 od for 30 days. it shall improve the size of RBC s. take care
