Hello,

Your sister is suffering from headache and sneezing. She should get clinically examined by an ENT to detect sinusitis, deviated nasal septum, etc. She should get few required tests and imaging tests done to confirm diagnosis. Congestion, sinusitis, headache or face pain can be successfully treated with medicines like antihistamines, decongestants, acetaminophen, etc.

Taking steam and nasal drops (otrivin nasal drop) also relieves symptoms. However if DNS, deviated nasal septum is detected and symptoms do not improve after giving conservative treatment then surgery may be recommended by your treating doctor.

She is suggested to stay away from dust, pollen, animal dander and also from food that causes allergy. Allergy triggers her symptoms. She should avoid direct exposure to sunlight, strong smells, avoid skipping meals and stay well hydrated. She should stay away from addictions if any.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Neurologist Dr. Dr. Abhishek Juneja's  Response
Hi,

The symptoms seem to be of sinus related headache. It's possibly that overgrowth of bone in the nasal cavity may be responsible for the symptoms. Removal of this obstruction by surgery may certainly relieve the symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Abhishek Juneja, Neurologist
