Hi, I m a 22 year old female (5 4 and about 108lbs). About 2 months ago I got a cold at the end of which I developed a sore throat. A few weeks later I started getting silent burps after eating and was diagnosed with acid reflux. But after a month of taking medication for this and having a scope done that revealed nothing wrong, my throat is still quite sore most of the time and the burping hasn t gotten any less frequent.
The medications prescribed has not been mentioned. Proton pump inhibitors such as rabeprazole can be taken half an hour before food. Do not lie down immediately after eating and leave a gap of atleast an hour between dinner and sleep time. Any throat infection causing pharyngitis, post nasal drip or sinusitis should also be treated with antibiotics.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
