Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had some symptoms of a sore throat since yesterday and my tongue is progressively getting sorer and is slightly swollen. I had the same symptoms a few months ago and both of the side of my tongue became so sore it was difficult to eat. It was extremely uncomfortable and lasted a little over a week. I saw my Asthma doctor as I though it was thrush, which is a side effect of the foracort inhaler I use. he said it was not and that it was a virus that would just take its course. Is there anything else I can do to ease the soreness?
As you mention in query that you are having sore throat along with sore and swollen tongue .There can be many cause for this condition like chronic medical condition and dry mouth .But these two symptoms are among most common side effects of foracort inhaler which can occurs due to thrush as you also mention .
I would suggest you to consult your doctor again ,so that he can suggest you some substitute of foracort inhaler .
Hope your concern has been resolved. Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
