Suggest Remedy For Stinging Microscopic Bugs Under Fingernails And Toenails
I have microscopic bugs or mites on my body, mostly under fingernails an toenails but other places sometimes too. They look like black pepper but sometimes white like salt and sometimes different colors and shapes. They bite and sting and get in my clothes like balls of lint and sting me still. Have you ever seen this and do you have any answers ?
The first thing that comes to mind is some form of dermatophytes or mite that lives on the skin. That would likely be most consistent with what you are describing, in cases like that they can burrow into the skin and not only be itchy but also produce a stinging sensation. Often times using over-the-counter PERMETHRIN works well to treat this.
Permethrin is found at most local pharmacies, but you may need to ask the pharmacist specifically. This is one thought, also TEA TREE OIL application reportedly is helpful here with application at night before bedtime. Hopefully this helps in some regard.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. David Girardi, Internal Medicine Specialist
