Suggest Remedy For Stomach Pain In Children

9 year old daughter is experiencing committing, bloating and moderate stomach aches. But the symptoms are not all day. It is only after she eats and only primarily during the evenin. Right now she is passing gas. Is this something I should be concerned with?

Hi,

Since she is passing gas that is a good sign, we know from that there is not bowel blockage or obstruction. To be honest what we see causing this the most statistically in the office is stress and anxiety, usually school related to be frank. Particularly if she is having these symptoms after returning from school.

Now other considerations here that can be looked at is CELIAC DISEASE (gluten hypersensitivity) that is another common issue we see and even signs of gastritis (even at 9 years old we can see that). I do think if stress and anxiety are not causing this, then having her seen by her PEDS doc for an evaluation for CELIAC disease is really not a bad idea.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
