Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have stomach pain that feels like someone punched me in the gut and let their fist. I feel like I could vomit but don't. I also get urgers to have a bowel movement. I've had seveal bowel movements but they are really small. Nothing seems to relieve the pain..
Such a severe pain in stomach as if punched, need to go for passing stool but coming out in small quantities, nausea and feeling to throw up can be due to Entero-colitis or intestinal obstruction.
This can be diagnosed by the following ways:
- Clinical evaluation, examination by a General Surgeon - X-ray of abdomen in standing position - CT scan of abdomen - Tests of blood, stool and urine
All these will lead to a proper diagnosis and thus gives a plan of management. You may need an antibiotic cover.
Surgery can be done, if there is any obstruction. Stop taking anything orally and rush to ER (Emergency Room) or nearby Hospital.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
