hello... i get stomach pain out of the blue... sometimes i can go weeks with out one and they only last about from a min. to a few...... they are painfull and make it so i just want to curl up in a ball.. i feel as if i dont get enough to really see a doctor as for i can go awile with out gettin one
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood the concerns. Recurrent spasmodic pain in abdomen needs a proper diagnosis as the causes can be: Ureteric colic due to stone or stricture in ureter. Intestinal obstruction. IBS that is irritable bowel syndrome. These can be diagnosed by the following: Get an opinion of a General Surgeon. CT scan of abdomen is of a great help. Upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy. Tests of blood, urine and stool. All these will help to get a probable diagnosis and a plan of management. If all the tests are normal then the diagnosis is most probably IBS and then you need to have a proper control over anxiety and stress. If a specific cause is found then it will be treated specifically as per the findings.
