Suggest Remedy For Stuffy Nose With Sore Throat

I've had a sore throat (really painful) for about a week also a stuffy nose and constant coughing (coughing attacks)...I visited the doctor he gave me clarithromycin to take for seven days, taking for 2 days now. I all of a sudden hav neck and shoulder and chest pain...is the chest and neck and shoulder pain from coughing..I've been gargling with salt water drinking tea with lemon also...I still feel bad...my throat hurts so bad it hurting my ears also...what should I do so I can feel better. Can I take motrin for the pain in my neck and shoulder? I even rinse out my nose with saline so my nose can open.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
in my opinion you are suffering from URI. I would recommend you to complete the antibiotic course, dnt stop in middle. nasal irrigation with saline is good, you can use xylometazoline nasal drops to open your nose. I would also advice to stop eating cold food. drink warm water, take hot bath. you can take painkillers, antihistaminic to alleviate symptoms.
