Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Foul Smell In Nose
I had a rhinoplasty 3 years ago.For the last 2 weeks I have had a swollen nose, foul smell in my nose and my septum is swollen and red, still. I had a headache too. I'm on antibiotic course for about 7-8 days, cortico nose spray, but no improvement......
Hi,looking at your symptoms,it seems that you might be suffering from Atrophic Rhinitis-which might occur due to excess passage in nasal cavity after surgery. You should use saline nasal wash, glycerine nasal drops as they will help to moisturise your nasal lining and prevent drying of nose and crusting formation which causes foul smell from nose. For swollen nasal septum ,use nasal decongestant nasal drops (like otrivin nasal drops) and antihistaminic(like cetrizine). For headache ,you can use Analgesic (like Ibuprofen) and do steam inhalation. No need to take further antibiotics as you have already taken for 7-8 days.
Hope this answers your question.Take care.
