Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Numbness In Finger After Joint Dislocation

I dislocated my fourth finger joint yesterday..it was placed back in at the ER and is splinted. it has continued to swell into the back of hand to where I have no knuckle today and the finger is numb.. is this normal, dhould i request another xray from my family dr

Hi,
Numbness of your finger is not Normal. Any neurological symptom in fracture/dislocation needs immediate treatment. the splint may be too tight tha you may be developing a "compartment syndrome" where the pressure in the compartment is so high that compromises blood flow and presses on nerves. If this numbness is of recent onset i.e not there during the time of injury and splinting or if there is increasing pain please go to ER immediately
