Suggest Remedy For Swelling And Redness Of Eye Due To Exposure To Pop Corn Ceiling Material

Can popcorn ceiling material (which has been removed) cause an allergic reaction? My daughter rubbed some on her face. I washed it off immediately, but now here eyes are slightly puffy and swollen and red. I gave her some benadryl about 20 minutes ago, but it doesn t seem to be going away.

Hi, and than you for your query.
I understand your concern, and the eyes could be reacting to the chemical you mentioned. Taking an anti allergic like Benadryl is a good idea, but in my opinion you can also supplement it by some topical anti-allergic eye drops and eye ointment for faster relief. Pls also keep in mind that while rubbing her face, your daughter could have inadvertently, scratched her eyes. So, if the redness does not respond to the eye drops , it is better to have her examined by a eye doctor.

All the very best health for you and your family!!!
