Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi , my girl aged 20 months weighed 12.5kg fell from a highchair today, left cheek was swollen and there is bruising over at her upper lips, otherwise she has been active, no bleeding from nose or ear observed. Should i be bringing her for an assessment ? thanks
Hello dear user! I have gone through your query and understood your concerns! Thank you for sharing them on healthcaremagic. It is expected to be a swelling after the injury she had. Local edema is a normal reaction of the body against hitting. If the swelling is not too big and it does't cause problems to the girl, you don't have to be worried. The girl is active, no other symptoms, and i guess she feeds normally. Just keep watching it for any other changing. You can just use cold compresses to remove the swelling. No other medications are needed. I hope this answer was helpful to you! Please kindly rate it as helpful and write a short review about your experience with me! I would appreciate that a lot. Thank you and best regards! DR ERIOL.
