Suggest Remedy For Swelling When Diagnosed With Uvulatis

I was diagnosed with Uvulatis (?) on Thursday am in ER. I am on Augmentin and steroids. It swelled up very much after i went home from ER, but i saw doc. and he seemed to think it would get better. It is now the 6th day after starting treatment and going to ER. My uvula is yellow on one side, and that side of my throat is still sore, although not swollen anymore. Is this normal? Should it be taking this long to get better?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Depending on the exact cause, we should suspect time taken for recovery. But if you feel no improvement at all, then may be a change in your antibiotics is in order. Wait for a fay or two more and then speak to your doctor for the same. In some cases, swelling may require surgical drainage.

Best wishes.
