Suggest Remedy For Swollen Hymen Post Non Penetrative Sex

Hi. My hymen is swollen. I m concerned. I was just recently fingered and the tip of my BF was in me for no more than a few seconds. (I chickened out) I ve never had sex before. Please let me know, I am worried. How can I make the swelling go down? And what are your tips for this?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Dear, there has been a physical trauma to your hymen and it is swollen just in the sense that a punch in the face results in a swollen eye. This swelling will go down by itself. However, you can apply a steroid cream, I would recommend mometasone furoate, as this accelerates the course of healing. I would suggest that you take a course of antibiotics to remove infections if necessary. I recommend Doxycycline. You're OK now. Dr. Neel Kudchadkar
