Suggest Remedy For Swollen Self-inflicted Wound Oozing Clear Fluids
i think i have a self-inflicted wound that is festering. its been leaking fluids and its a little swollen. its not an actual cut, but multiple skin layers ripped out of an area. the flesh is raw. ive had it wrapped but it seems to be getting worse. im very scared and dont think i can tell my parents, unless absolutely necessary. please help me
Visit ER and get it clinically examined. The wound needs to be cleaned, if required stitches may be given, and antiseptic dressing done to help faster healing and to prevent it from getting infected. Get the wound cleaned and antiseptic dressing done every alternate day. Do not touch, scratch or pick as it may spread infection.
Take acetaminophen or naproxen, one stat after food and when needed to help reduce pain, inflammation and soreness. You may need a course of antibiotics like Augmentin for faster and better healing. Stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
