My son swallowed a large portion of food that made his throat hurt. He says it feels like something is stuck. It is very uncomfortable. It hurt mainly when he swallowed but now he says it hurts all the time. His breathing is fine and he can swallow water

A detailed evaluation is required. Conditions like acid reflex or rarely some lumps in the throat or food pipe can cause similar symptoms.
