Suggest Remedy For Throat Pain Due To Airborne Fungus
Is it possible to get a positive strep test when the real issue is an airborne fungus? I have had a slightly sore throat since July which when I got fever and severe headaches in the back of my head led me to get a strep test which was positive...after 10 days of penicillin twice a day still positive, now 10 days at 3 times a day and I can feel that I am not fully recovered (slight weakness in limbs and soreness in back of throat)...I am wondering if there is unhealthy air where I work because others are getting sick with slightly different symtoms
Unhealthy air would not be able to cause a positive strep test on two occasions. I would have suggested that you do not take any further treatment and if symptoms persist, then go on and get a throat culture to isolate the germ and identify what antibiotic would best control the infection. At times, time is all we need to return to our normal state.
I hope this helps. I wish you well.
