Hello, I've gone through your query. usually the effects of the anaesthetic wear away 2-3 hours after it's been administered. if a nerve block was administered, on rare occasions the needle may have nicked the plexus of veins at the site of anaesthetic delivery which also manifests with a swollen face. if this is the reason then you do not have to worry as it will subside on it's own within a day or two. but if a local infiltration of the anaesthetic was administered then it should not cause swelling of your face and throbbing of your gums, and it could be possibly due to an infection. I'd suggest you to visit a dentist as soon as possible to relieve you of your symptoms.
Hope you get total relief from your symptoms.
