Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello Dr. Andrew. I was recently bitten by a tick (which I can only describe as being very small, round, and brown, as if it were a lentil) of unknown species. I was able to remove it with tweezers and the place where it was latched onto me is healing just fine. How long should I wait before scheduling a visit to my doctor? I m just thinking about symptoms of Lyme s disease and such but it d be a waste if I went to early, during the incubation period.
If the bite has caused redness over the area and you are suffering from flu like symptoms then you must visit a physician and get treated for it. As long as you are not symptomatic, I don't see any requirement for visiting a doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
