Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
For the first time in my adult life I am experiencing vaginal odor and I don t know what to do about it . I have tested for both UTI and yeast infection. I had a yeast infection and did the treatment (twice to be sure because I hadn t had one in 20 yrs) and now I have this odor. Please help!
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I have read your description and understand your concern. Vaginal odour could persist for some time even after getting treated for yeast infection. Kindly do the following to overcome it. 1. Clean the area with mild antiseptic solution like Savlon twice daily. 2. Take a course of antibiotic Tablet.Metronidazole orally as there could be associated bacterial infection. 3. Apply moisturizer cream at bedtime. 4. Wear loose fitting undergarments to provide good ventilation. Maintain good genital hygiene. Gradually, the symptoms should get better and subside completely. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
