Hi, while playing rugby today a girl stepped on my fingers with her cleat, scraping off a lot of skin next to my nail. The skin is still attatched, but not really in place anymore. I washed off the blood, put on a band aid, and kept playing. The bleeding has stopped, but it keeps oozing clear-ish liquid. I ve put hydrogen peroxide on it, several times. How do I get it to stop oozing?
You are suffering from weeping wound from injury. Clear liquid is oozing out. Bleeding is a natural way for the wound to clean out. Bacteria gets expelled out from the wound. If the wound is expelling discharge or pus, it may be indicative that the wound is infected. You are suggested to get the wound clinically examined by a GP. Get the wound cleaned and antiseptic dressing done.
It is important for the wound to be closed and bandaged to prevent harmful bacteria from getting inside and causing an infection. The dressing should be changed every alternate day so that it is clean, dry and infection free. You can take acetaminophen, one SOS when needed to help get relieved of pain and inflammation. You may need a course of antibiotics (Augmentin) orally so that the wound gets dry and heals faster. Stay away from addictions if any. Take care of your hygiene.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
