Suggest Remedy For Weight Gain When On Birth Control Pills

I have endometriosis and I had my uterius and tubes taken out about a year and a half ago, but my gynecologist just put me on a birth control pill three weeks ago and I am not impressed. Mostly because I was in weight watchers for 21 weeks and I just got to my goal weight and in 3 weeks I have already gained about 6 - 8 lbs. but I am still suffering pain. I am sleeping with a heating pad the odd night, taking a naproxen still, and have bad aches on my lower back enough to see the chiropractor. I am wondering do I really ready the birth control pill?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Start taking bath before a meal. This will help remarkably in keeping your body weight under check. Take less of carbohydrates and more of proteins in diet. You can also use alternatives to BCPs. One of the known side effects of BCPs is weight gain and there is no way to control it other than using alternative methods of contraception.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
