Suggest Remedy To Cure Cough

I have been suffering with a hard cough for two weeks now. I was on the Z-pac and am now on Keflex for upper respiratory symptoms, which have now been helped, however, I am still coughing hard and often. Cough syrup and cough drops don t seem to be helping. Any suggestions on what I might try? Thanks.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Your health has concerned you due to lac of results to treatment. I can understand it.
Long standing coughs deserve investigations to know the exact problem & it's solution too.usually following things are done-
- blood Hb%,TLC,DLC,ESR/ sputum testing for culture & sensitivity/Xray chest. This gives clue about type of cough-( allergic/infective/viral), involvement of respiratory organs.
- The physical examination by a physician along with pathology reports will pin point the treatment plan which will relieve you of the problem.
Thanks
