Suggest Remedy To Deal With Earaches During Air Travel
When I was 7 years old, as a result of having bad hearing I had grommets inserted in my ears, left in for 6 months and removed. My hearing has been perfect ever since, I don t have any other ear problems or earaches. When I fly I get an excruciating ear ache that makes flying unbearable. I have tried chewing gum, sipping water etc but nothing works. Please help!
Hello, Here are some things to try. Try taking a deep breath, holding your nose, then gently try blowing through your nose. This forces are into the Eustacian tubes and is often successful in opening them. Take an antihistamine and a decongestant nasal spray like afrin befor your flight. Ask your doctor for a nasal steroid spray and use it twice a day for one week before you fly. I hope some of this is helpful. Regards
