Suggest Remedy To Get Off Of Levothyroxine?

Looking to get off Levothyroxine 100 mg/daily. Did it once before successfully during training for triathlon but had to use again since a death in my family. Really would like to try again. Having used it over 10 years now. Looking for medical guidance to accomplish this. Thanks, Bsh

Hi,

A decision to stop thyroid hormone supplementation should always be taken after consulting one's doctor. It is not a drug of abuse but a hormone produced by the body and needed for the healthy functioning of all organ systems. You will need to get your blood tested for thyroid hormone levels regularly. If your doctor finds that your levels are higher than required, then he will gradually reduce the dose of your tablets.

Hope this helps you. Best wishes.
