Suggest Remedy To Help Moisten The Vagina During Intercourse
I am post menopausal and have been divorced for 5 years. I haven t had sex in that amount of time and I am contemplating a relationship with a gentleman. I will need to stretch my vagina so that this will be possible. I have never had children so I ve always been small. Now, after menopause, the opening is much smaller. I also lost some length in the vagina as I had a radical hysterectomy for uterine cancer 28 years ago. I know about adding vaginal moisturizers but what else can I do before I actually attempt relations?
Vaginal dryness is common and usually result of lack of estrogens but some other less common causes may be present. The most common treatment for vaginal dryness due to low estrogen levels is topical estrogen therapy.
In order to keep the vagina more lubricated, try using a vaginal moisturizer (Replens). You use a disposable applicator such as Vagifem to insert a tablet into your vagina once a day for the first two weeks of treatment.Avoid using douches, bubble baths, scented soaps, and lotions around the sensitive vaginal area. These products can worsen dryness.
