hello Doctor, my son is student he has problem ,when he starts study ,each time he makes strategy.he thinks that he will not be able to understand the topic.he knows the problem but cannot overcome it.he is an engineering student. from standard 1 to till date he is very bright student .please help. smita

Your apprehension regarding your son is absolutely natural. However, one needs to understand the fact, that a human mind has its limit and not all brains work the same, though we all have talents in various but different areas.
Now for a mind to function at optimum one must provide a tension and stress free environment to perform. There is a certain limit to which stress can increase performance after which there gets declined in the performance.
In your case, I need to know if your son is putting adequate effort, but he is not able to perform, or he is being lazy about studies.
the nature of interventions differ markedly in either of these cases.
I expect further more detailed information from you to be in a position make some advice.
