My blood ptessure has been running high all day.187/107 was the last reading. I take benicar hct40 - 25mgg once dayly. I also take propranolo,l hcl er 80mg 2x daliy. I have not had a cigrette in 6 days. Also walk 1-2 x per day for a half hour. Thought my bp should go down when you quit smoking.
Hi welcome to HCM Hypertension should be controlled immediately as it is risk factor for Infarction in brain and heart.Low salt intake,high protein diet with fruits like apple,pomogranate Jain highly significant to reduce your BP.Also Exercise will help.Quit smoking completely.A revival of your drugs may be needed by adding calcium channel blockrs and changing the dosage of your present medications.so discuss with your doctor about your medications.Get regular cardiac checkup-ECG,lipid profile,2Dimensional Echo ,TMT ,complete blood picture,hsCRP to know future risk of getting heart disease.consult your cardiologist for expert management.
