Suggest Safe Dosage Of Meftal P For A 15 Month Old Child

My Sister Daughter is suffering from high fever, 103 F. Fever is rising at nights but she is responding well with mefenamic acid suspension meftal p. Her age is 15 Months, and her body weight is 12 kg. Is it safe to administer meftal-p for couple of times and how much ml of meftal-p can i administer to him? dosage for children.

Hello,

I would not recommend taking Meftal P at this age. Instead I would recommend alter once in four hours acetaminophen and ibuprofen, based on her body weight. If the fever continues, antibiotics may be needed. Anyway, before coming to this conclusion, I would recommend performing some lab tests (complete blood count, PCR, ESR, urine bacterial culture, urine analysis, etc).
