Suggest Solution For Redness In Eyes Caused Due To Vaporizing Steam Liquid
My 18 months old tipped some Vicks vaporizing steam liquid and it went into his eyes. I held a cold wash cloth over his eyes and tried to wash it out the best I could. Eyes are now pretty red. Wondering if he should be seen in the ER or if he will be ok after a little while.
Red eyes can be triggered by various factors. The most common cause of the condition is inflamed vessels on the surface of your eyes. Soak a cotton pad in rose water and place on the closed eyes for 15 minutes if possible.
Rose water has a soothing and relaxing effect on your eyes. Its anti-inflammatory properties reduce the inflammation and irritation in your eyes.
Cold compresses are best to treat the inflammation and swelling in your eyes. They also help in constricting the blood vessels of the affected eye, which helps reduce the redness.
The symptoms usually become better in three to five days and heal almost completely in a week or two.
