Suggest Some Good Doctors For Stapedectomy Surgery
Can you suggest me the best ENT surgeon in banglore for Stapedectomy , I have been told Dr. H Vijayendra and DR. A Mahadevaiah are the best Otologist in banglore. But I am confused where to go? can anyone advise me on this please
1. You may go ahead with either of them. You may also consult Dr. Sunil N. Dutt at the Apollo Hospital, Bangalore.
2. You should also consider hearing aids or a BAHA (Bone Anchored Hearing Aid) device as options today, especially if your lifestyle does not suit a stapedectomy.
3. Within the ambit of stapedectomy you have a wide choice of pistons and prosthesis.
4. Remember that the stapedectomy does not treat the disease (otosclerosis), but merely bypasses it for a few years. Ultimately if the new bone formation affects the inner ear (cochlea), you may have to revert to using a hearing aid.
well in my views, you should go for stapedotomy, and prefer the teflon piston, because the the otosclerosis is a progressive disease, we cant stop its progression, rather with this surgery, the progression will hold for next few years.
With ref to our earlier conversation, please note as per plan I met Dr. Vijayendra on 18th and as advised by him carried out Stapedectomy procedure on my left ear on 19th July, discharged from hospital on 21st july. Removed bandage and open the stitch on 26th July. Left bangalore for my home by Train on 28th. Since then my hearing is very good and I can hear very well. carried out my first post Op audiometry test on 18th Aug as advised in discharge order. The hearing loss now is 22% which was 65 in my left ear. I am very happy and thanking with all my regards to Dr Vijayendra and his entrire team of Vijaya ENT care centre, bangalore.
The only porblem I am having now is I am having itching inside the ear canal and when I used ear bud for the first time yesterday I could find some dry blood kind of powder cam out. I did not put the bud again but still feelong itching sometime. Is it safe to use the ear bud now after 5 weeks of surgery???
Awaiting for yr kind advise.
Regards
