Suggest Some Low Cost Nutritious Supplements

Hi! I very often get weak in between meals. This has been so bad that it affects my ability to learn and my performance at work. I just can t do much until I can eat again. I am recently reading about it online and finding information about sugar sensitivity. I eat a lot of sugary things and love pasta. What are some low cost food that might help me to have as meals and snacks?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

- It is possible that you are suffering from hypoglycemia between meals. If this does get better by keeping some sugar or candy in your mouth, I would suggest you get evaluated for the cause of this.
- Are you a diabetic who takes any medications? If not, you should have your insulin levels checked along with your sugars.
- A low cost option would be to keep some hard candy that you can keep in your mouth. This isn't a permanent solution as it can do a number on your teeth.
- You can also keep fruits or juice accessible.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
