Suggest Speciality For Oesophageal Variceal Bleed With Severe Anaemia
dear doctor, i am 55, fasting sugar 342.2 & post lunch 479.2,
heamoglobin 11.8, RBC - 3.40, WBC - 3100, platelet count -60000;
last yera i had gone through an oesophaechal verical bleed with severe animea. done endoschopy through binding. please suggest the whom should i do the treatment?

Hi,
1. Firstly your blood Sugar is very high. I hope you are on some anti-diabetic tablets or Injection Insulin. Please consult your Doctor or an Endocrinologist for this.
2. Your other investigations are near normal except for a low Platelet count. You dont require Platelet transfusion but this level of Platelets is not comfortable with your history of Variceal bleed. Please consult a Hematologist for this.
3. You dont have anemia presently with an Hb of 11.8 but continue any hematinic medicines that you might be on.
4. For your Variceal bleed you should be following up with a Gastroenterologist. I hope they have put you on Propranolol tablets daily - this decreases chance of recurrence of bleed.
