Suggest Substitute To Amlodipine Without Causing Anxiety And Depression

Amlodipine has caused anxiety and depression . I am a diabetic ,what would be a good substitute / carvedilol 6.25 mg 2x a day caught up to me and depressed me also. There going to put me back on losarten 100 mg once a day. Should I be going to a specialist instead of a gp.

Losartan with a diuretic like chlorthalidone is a good option for a diabetic. The chlorthalidone can make the losartan work better and the losartan protects the kidney function in diabetics. Neither of those should cause depression or anxiety as side effect. Good luck.

Losarten or more recent members of the ARB group are good for people with diabetes. Did you have a problem with Losarten?
Another medicine I have found good in people who cannot tolerate beta blockers and Calcium channel blockers is Moxonidine ( Physiotens) .
