Suggest Tests To Diagnose Parkinson S Disease While Having Peripheral Neuropathy
i have been diag with parkinsons and also neuropathy.of the legs the med for parkinsons does not help i think i have neuropathy, of the legs and esenseal tremors of my hand. which i have had for 60 years. i don t think i have parkinsons, how do i convince my doctors.
Hi Thanks for posting on HCM There are many neurologic conditions that may be mistaken for Parkison's disease. However, the diagnosis of Parkinson's disease may not even need any tests.Clinically, it has three main presentations: -Resting tremor -Bradykinesia/Akinesia -Cogwheel rigidity If all these symptoms/signs are present, then your Doctor is right to say you have Parkinson's disease.Other medical conditions may however be mistaken for parkinson's disease like: drugs induced tremors, hereditary disorders, Neurodegenerative disorders and infections. The difference here is that these other causes of tremor will not give your the three characteristic signs of Parkinson's disease. I will suggest you see a Neurologist for evaluation and management. There exist many lines of treatment for Parkinson's disease. If one does not work, your Doctor may try another line or even try association of different lines for better results or just manipulate doses. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
