Suggest Tests To Diagnose Considerable Pain With Swelling In Knee
I had total knee replacement June 2014. October of same year, I fell and as diagnosed with a Grade 2 MCL sprain on the same knee. 7 months later I am still in considerable pain with swelling from knee to ankle not uncommon. Have had x rays and a bone scan that verified no other bone injuries and ruled out the replaced knee being compromised. Since MRI is so accurate in diagnosis extent of injury but I am not a candidate for one, what test would replace this?
This problem can be do to loosing of MCL due to sprain. Best test to see ligament is MRI. BUT MRI is not suitable for you. So clinical examination can be of use. You can get CT scan to rule out other pathologies.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
