Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was just in hospital for suspected case of mumps. Serology came back negative for mumps but had high lymphocytes percentage and low neutrofils percentage. Does this mean it is still possible I had mumps or fighting other virus. Heart rate down to 44 and keg determined bradycardia. Worri d it could be something other than mumps not diagnosed.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
Mumps is usually suspected after parotid swelling and other infectious causes of parotitis should be considered such as HIV, coxsackievirus, and influenza. Initial signs and symptoms often include fever, muscle pain, headache, and feeling tired. Mumps can be confirmed by isolating the virus on a swab of the parotid gland duct. Testing for antibodies in the blood is simple and can be falsely negative in those who have been immunized. So you might still have mumps As your 2nd query, high lymphocytes percentage and low neutrophils percentage indicate a viral infection which might be mumps
