Suggest Tests To Diagnose Systemic Lupus Erythematosus
Hi, I have spent months suffering symptoms that are similar to SLE; loss of memory, brain fog, headaches, joint pain and stiffness, poor sleep patterns, lack of energy all day and mouth ulsers. Some years ago a doctor looked at my red face and asked me how long I have had Lupus. I went to the doctor a few days ago as my leg had a rash on it without any sign of a wound. 2 weeks ago a small burn on my arm became septic quickly. How do I get tested for SLE? How do I indicate to the doctor that I want to be tested?

SLE presents with different types of symptoms including different organ system.
i shall advise you to consult a rheumatologistbefore going through the tests.
the tests needed are
ANA-very sensitive
ANTI DS DNA antibody_most specific.alongwith you should have a chest xray,CBC,UREA,CREATININE,LFT.
