Suggest The Course Of Medication Of Amitiza 24 Mg For Diarrhea
I was given Amitiza 24 mg. I just had one of the worst diahrea before I could get to te bathroom all over myself started to sit on commode it came with such force all over floor bathtub wall floor is this normal, I am suppose to take twice a day for irritable bowels
Very likely you are having a viral infection causing this diarrhea with gas and explosion and this can happen with viral infections.
It is very important that you take oral rehydration solutions to substitute lost fluids and electrolytes, rest well and avoid milk, sweets, and greasy food at the moment. You can also stop Amitiza while you have diarrhea as it may cause diarrhea to be worse.
If diarrhea lasts more than a week you will need a check with the doctor and other causes should be considered and ruled out such as malabsorption, for instance, or other conditions.
I hope this answers your query and is helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
