Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I ve been doing intermittent fasting for several months. Recently it was recommended to me that on weight training days (2 days a week) that I should add 2 T collegen to my water or coffee after my early morning workouts. Within a very short time I really started packing on the pounds. Should I cut it out completely or reduce the amount I take?
Studies investigating the benefits of collagen supplements have evaluated doses ranging from 2.5 grams per day to ten grams per day.For a glowing complexion, strengthening joints and bone, or reducing cellulite, a simple 11-gram scoop once a day will do the trick. For building muscle, 1 1/2 scoops (or 15-grams) per day is a great place to start.More than 15 grams should be taken only after physician or nutritionist approval.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
