Suggest The Dosage Of Codeine For Treatment Of Severe Pain

A relative was prescribed Codeine 30/Acetaminophen 300 mg tablet for pain. The imprint is 3/2064 V. Codeine 30 mg seems to be a very high dose of Codeine. Or is this a mild dose? I am not comfortable to let him have this med. until I know if it is o.k.

This dosage of Codeine per day is not a very high dose. Codeine can be taken in doses of 30 to 60 mg every 4 hours. The total Codeine dose per day should not exceed 360 mg.
