Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am changing from estropipate to estradiol because of cost..... what is the dose equivalent and half life for each.... (I was taking premarin but had to switch d/t cost; all this started at age 30 because of bilat oophorectomy d/t edometriosis... I am now 70)
The usual initial dosage range is 1 to 2 mg daily of Estradiol adjusted as necessary to control presenting symptoms.
The minimal effective dose for maintenance therapy should be determined by titration. Administration should be cyclic (e.g., 3 weeks on and 1 week off).
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
