Suggest The Regimen Of Duphaston For A 43-year-old Female

Hello, I am 43 year old female. Normally I have a 28 day cycle menstruation. Last year, I was diagnosed with PCOS which was cured after medication. Doctor told me to use Duphastone in case I have irregular periods later. Last month I did not have my period. I am now late by 35 days. My question is when should I start Duphastone and what should be the dosage? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, Duphaston can be used in once or twice daily depending on the progesterone deficiency as it is synthetic replacement of the hormone.

I suggest getting a detailed hormonal profile and an endocrinologist review for a long term treatment plan.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Saddiq Ulabidin, General & Family Physician
