Hello,
Welcome to HCM and thanks for asking your question. I would like to know what she is taking for the control of
thyroid, so i can guide you further to maintain normal thyroid levels.
Vitamin B12 is the only vitamin that is available in animal sources, so its deficiency is more common in pure vegetarian people. If your fiance is vegetarian, then there are every chances that B12 levels may be subnormal. You can advise her to take more milk and milk products which can provide b12, if eggs and non-veg is not possible.
B12 deficiency can lead to severe leg pains and weakness and if its level goes below 150, then you will have to take B12 injections regularly to supplement B12 in body. Otherwise there is no other alternative of B12.
At the end, i would love to guide you to control thyroid levels, if you can provide me few details like, which drug she is taking, for how long and what are the recent reports of
TSH, T3 & T4.
For B12, i would recommend to take more milk and milk products,if non veg is not possible, otherwise you will have to take tablets or injections of B12.
Hope this will help you and feel free to ask any queries of you.
