Suggest Treatment After Accidental Intake Of Harpic

Hi my daughter is 1 year and six months ..she has spilled the harpic on the floor and fell down ..and she started crying I was in other room when I reached there .,there was harpic in her mouth ..I have washed her mouth throughly ..she is active no bomitting and dizziness...it happened around 10 o'clock morning ..please advice what to do...I have been to hopitak doctor said observe her for 24 hours..please let me know your suggestion

Hi,

Harpic damages the mucosal membrane causing erosion with damage to respiratory and gastro intestinal mucous. Damage is depend on the amount of ingested. But do not worry as there is no vomiting and dizziness. You can take following advises for next 24-48 hours:

- Do not try to throw up/vomit
- Drink plenty of water
- Do not induce vomiting
- Do not give stomach wash
- Take 25-30 ml of mucaine gel If there is vomiting, dizziness then consult ER
